The Churchill Museum Cabinet War Rooms are dedicated to the study of the life of the “greatest Briton” as well as an illustration of the secret underground headquarters which Sir Winston Churchill, the British Prime Minister, used to plan the World War II effort.
The Churchill Museum divides his legacy into 5 chapters: his preliminary years as the British Prime Minister, his later years as Prime Minister, his childhood, his early days as a politician, and the time frame commonly referred to as the 'Gathering Storm.
The centrepiece of the War Rooms is the Cabinet Room itself and you can find the Map Room located nearby from where the strategies for Churchill's warfare were pursued. Visiting the Map Room gives you the extraordinary chance to see how warfare in former times was done, because the Rooms are still in the condition as when they were left behind. Original maps can still be discovered on the walls and telephones are still placed on the escritoire.
Visit the Cabinet War Rooms- the place where Sir Winston Churchill prepared strategies for the war effort of World War II. Furthermore these Rooms include a visit to the Map Room, the Cabinet Room – used for meetings of British top statesman, Churchill’s Room -- where he slept when unable to return to his residence at No.10 Downing St, and the Transatlantic Telephone Room.
The Churchill Museum opened his doors to public in 2005 and is definitely an exhibition historically interested tourists should not miss!
