The tour
Right after that you have been picked up in the morning, our Christmas guided Tour begins with a panoramic tour of London in which you will see all the premier attractions including Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and many more.
Thereafter we are heading to Oxford for a festive walk through this very old university town where we will pass through the ivy-clad colleges and the great honey coloured buildings. We will walk pass Christ Church, the place where Lewis Caroll wrote his enchanting tales of Alice in Wonderland and where the more recent movie, Harry Potter was filmed. Our guide will explain all the traditions of college life as you take in famous buildings such as the great Romanesque Radcliffe Camera and The Ashmolean, the absolute oldest museum in the UK.
After that we travel into the limestone hills of the Cotswolds a beautiful region made famous by the wool merchants that in the 14th century helped build some of the great manor houses and perpendicular Churches that we will walk pass. Moreover, there will be time to stop and take photos outside Blenheim Palace where Sir Winston Churchill was born before journeying to the pittoresque village of Newbold-on-Stour for our Christmas lunch.
Sit back comfortably and enjoy delicious Roast Turkey followed by traditional Christmas pudding that is served in this charming Elizabethan pub while at the same time the Christmas festivities of the local village commence to take place. The Inn carries a superb collection of fine wines and real ales and for those in the mood why not relax in front of the log fire with a brandy or two?! It is only Christmas once a year!
In the afternoon we travel to Stratford upon Avon passing by Anne Hathaways cottage before we arrive to this picturesque market town. Of course it is famous for William Shakespeare, England's most famous writer who was both born and lies buried here. Of course we will stop for photo taking on our short walk pass both his birthplace and the beautiful Holy Trinity Church where this great man finally came to rest.
