Lion King Based on the famous Disney film, The Lion King is a fantastic musical full of colour and wild costumes. With music by Elton John and lyrics by Tim Rice, The Lion King made its debut in London's West End theatres in 1999 at Lyceum Theatre, where it will run until the 29th of August, 2010. Enjoyed by over 7 million West End musical fans, The Lion King is the perfect way to enjoy a night out in London.

Inspired by the Shakespearian drama Hamlet, The Lion King is the story of the young prince Simba as he learns the harsh lessons of the beautiful, but dangerous, serengeti. With his father's tutelage, Simba is introduced to the Circle of Life. It isn't long before his father, Mufasa, moves on in the circle himself, and his evil brother, Scar, assumes the throne. Simba's right to the throne poses an obstacle to Scar's plans to be king and he attempts to have Simba assassinated. Simba escapes to the jungle where he comes of age and prepares for his return to the serengeti to confront Scar and take back the throne.

The Lion King is a musical suitable for audiences of all ages; tender and strong, passionate and touching, it will steal your hearts and imagination.
